So... instead I will share with you some of my new purchases. They're not vintage, so sticklers, look away now.
Hey Sailor tee by emandsprout (etsy) - I also bought a kitty tee for my supervisor/friend, because she loves kitties!
Custom made ballet flats from DeBonisOrquera (etsy) - I am praying they fit so I can go back and buy heaps more, seeing as the dogs destroyed all but one of my pairs of shoes. They're made out of recycled materials too, so extra plus there.
Paige Premium Denim Laurel Canyon jeans (eBay) - in a past life, I was a brand-obsessed fashionista - and PPD LC jeans were the best I'd ever owned. My last pair gave up the ghost somewhere in Ha'erbin, China - it might have been the -35°C that did it, or the 4 years of constant wear. It was time to buy a new pair - these are second hand, so I'm saving about $100, go me.
sass & bide EVH jeans (eBay) - again, fashionista. The EVH style was THE style of like, 2002? Who cares, I live in the past. This style was good to me too, until someone stole them from my College (US read: dorm) laundry room.
Threadless Every Night I Have the Same Dream, Issue 2, Vol. 1 tee (threadless.com) - You may not know this, but I LOVE everything zombie related. Have you seen the new TV show 'The Walking Dead'? If not, I might almost abandon you if you don't start downloading it ASAP! Also, somewhere between the phases of brand-obsessed fashionista and vintage lover, there came the phase of "alternative". Not quite goth, not quite emo, but 100% gore, grind and thrash, and a little of that phase remains.

Sugarhill Boutique blouse (ASOS) - I was just perusing the latest ASOS sale and J spotted this and liked it too, so it was a winner.
Rich indigo flares (ASOS) - hoping these will be flattering - I prefer a higher waist and a boot/flare leg. Not phased if they don't though, they were cheep cheep :)

And that, I'm afraid, will be it for clothing purchases for a little while... If I stick to a fairly strict budget (and no sneaky clothes shopping), I can have my credit card paid off by February 10th, which is decent, IMO, considering I owe about $2k.
So, have a wonderful New Years Eve everybody! We are currently on "catastrophe fire danger" alert with 40°C heat and extreme winds, so we are staying low, keeping an eye on the Country Fire Authority website and also patrolling the yard for dangerous snakes - one of the downsides to having pet snakes is that your dogs get taught to trust the pet ones, making them more complacent around the poisonous varieties.
What's in store for January 2011?
- donating blood for the second time
- getting a new tattoo shortly after donating blood
- giving up alcohol (for as long as I can - that will be tough, coming from the girl who is sipping bourbon at 10am right now)
- I should hopefully find out if I have been accepted into an IT Grad.Dip (glutton for punishment, I know)
- begin training for a 10km fun run again - I think my knee has just about recovered
See you in 2011, and tell me, what do you have in store for January (or indeed, the rest of 2010)? Did you fail all your NY resolutions too?
