1970s Norman Hartnell

How amazing is this dress? Actually, I think it might be a dressing gown or house dress, but stuff it, I'll wear it out in public. It's too awesome to keep cooped up inside the house.

I don't believe I have ever received so many compliments on a garment before - I even had people stopping me on the street. Lots of people assumed it was from Japan, so there were some shocked faces when I said it was actually from Britain, designed by the Royal Dressmaker, Norman Hartnell.

Oh yeah, and I sacrificed buying Christmas presents to buy this sucker. Oops. That probably puts me on Santa's naughty list, right?

Oh my that is AMAZING!!! Wow - no wonder you get comments on it.

Those shoes are great too - I've been eyeing off the grey ones of those. Are they comfortable (as far as heels go)?

Thanks Kitty!

They're quite comfortable, but probably a tad too high for my liking (I think my limit is 4"/10cm, but these are 11.5cm). They're definitely a sit-down-at-a-restaurant kinda shoe for me, not a hike-around-town shoe!
